It’s Black Breastfeeding Week, Meet Akia & Laniyah

“If you nurse your baby for just one day, you’ve done them a world of good.”

–Dr. India Reid, as told to a gestational, first-time mom to relieve her of any future guilt, and nervousness about the unknown.

We hosted our inaugural Milk & Suga Summit, and launched our Milk and Suga Exhibit to highlight the thoughts and experiences of our beautiful Mamas who have allowed us space into their intimate moments of beautiful Black breastfeeding.
Take it all in, here and watch the summit in full here.

“Breastfeeding is something I knew I had to give and experience…especially as a Black woman, we are the life source.”

“She feels safe, she feels nurtured…that extra sense of security”

From my baby’s perspective:
“I can come to you to be replenished…you actually feel it, you feel the love, and they do too.”
